My name is Manuel and I am an aviation enthusiast, in life I am an Air Traffic Controller for the Italian Agency in charge of flight assistance.
I'm trying to reproduce, at home and in my spare time, the cockpit of an A320 using X-Plane 11, some instruments and panels made with a 3D printer and connected through Arduino and Mobiflight, some parts purchased from companies that deal with making simulation hardware. All this to make a simulator to be used as a pastime, realistic but at low cost.
Step 1 - Connect the RMP to the PC
Step 2 - Download the interface for the ToLiss simulator
After registering with your credentials and selecting the ToLiss interface you proceed with the "purchase" (free for this product) and select "ADD TO CART". As soon as the Skalarki-team has verified the request, they will send an email with the link to download the file and the access key.
Step 3 - Software installation
After receiving the credentials for activation, you proceed by downloading the software. Once opened through its icon you select the activation function "ACTIVATE YOUR LICENSE" and enter the credentials received.
The downloaded file will be in ZIP-format and will need to be unpacked. Once unzipped we will find a file named "Skalarki0Profoiler519111000" (or higher).
A double-click on the downloaded file opens the following window:
A click on "NEXT" will bring up the following menu:
It is used to indicate where the profiler will be installed. You don't need to edit anything, just put a check mark on "I agree to the License and conditions) and click "NEXT".
Select the down arrow present to the left of "X-Plane 11 Aircraft" brings up a list of ToLiss aircrafts for which the profiler can be installed. Since I have the A320 ToLiss, I selected the "ToLiss A320" item.
A drop-down menu will now appear, and the item "WILL BE INSTALLED ON LOCAL HARD DRIVE" must be selected. Typing "NEXT" will bring up the following menu:
The exact path where the installer will copy the plugin should be indicated here. The plugin should be placed in the A320 ToLiss plugin folder.
In my case, the route is :
Documenti/Simulatore/X-Plane 11/Aircraft/Extra Aircraft/TolissA320_V1p5
I am going to enter this path in the previously opened window:
By typing "NEXT" the profiler will be installed, the icon will appear on the desktop
Going to open the plugin folder of my A320 ToLiss I will find the file installed:
The name of the installed file is JPP90. Opening this folder, we find a folder named "64". Opening the folder "64" we will find the following files:
Step 4 - Installer configuration
RMP1 indicator appears to be connected with the indication "YES". Selecting "STOP SDK Mode" gives access to the "SETTING" menu.
Here I am going to enter the IP address of the computer on which I installed the A320.
I will then type "SAVE" and I have completed the configuration of the installer.
The first time after installing the profiler, before starting X-Plane, we need to start the "Config90" application which is located in the Plugins folder we installed earlier in the A320 folder.
Once started we need to select the language and a menu appears where we should also enter here the IP address of the PC from which we are using X-Plane.
Type "SAVE" and close.
Now you can start X-Plane (remember to always launch profiler prior to X-Plane) by selecting the accoding icon. Having done this to confirm that everything is working properly we should find:
1. The new item JPPV9 at the top of the menu screen by selecting PLUGINS
2. On the Skalarki Profiler screen the indication that the RMP is connected to the PC and that the interface is dialoguing correctly with our A320 ToLiss in X-Plane.
NOTE: The installed plugin has many functions, not just the one to manage the RMP. The interface is used to manage a variety of A3xx systems. A complete and detailed description of what it can do and how to do it can be found in the PDF file in the plugin folder. The description made by me is only for being able to manage the RMP system on X-Plane 11 with A320 ToLiss aircraft.
I hope it has been helpful, Manuel.
